Pumpkin Carving / Decorating 2013

Every year, on Mischief Night, our family decorates or carves pumpkins. My husband usually carves, while I normally paint (something about touching squishy soft insides of a pumpkin absolutely GROSSES me the hell out!!!!). I make the kids paint theirs, but this year Steven said they were old enough to carve and since they wanted to he let them.

So, in all my geeky glory, this is the pumpkin I painted.....

Dinner Is Served

Okay Geeksters.... you all know I never post food stuff on my blog.... but today I had to share!

April over at If You Want It Done Right shared a recipe on a mutual friends's personal Facebook status. It sounded so delish that I wanted to try it as well.

Crock Pot Cream of Chicken:
2 chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken soup
sprinkle in black pepper, garlic salt, onion powder, basil, paprika and parsley

Cook on Low 8 hours, or High 4 hours.

This is all the ingredients in, and right before I turned the Crockpot on.

In the picture I have 4 chicken breasts and 3 cans of cream of chicken soup plus generous helpings of all the spices. The cans of soup are small so I added an extra to be safe, lol. Plus my Crock Pot is big, hahaha!

Anyway, my mother, husband and I ate it for dinner on Wednesday night........ and it was amazing!!!! My husband raved on and on about how great it was, and even scraped every last bit of sauce and chicken out of the bottom of the Crock Pot. Score one for me.... I mean April. Thanks girl, you rock!!

Will you be making this for dinner tonight?

The Wheat Food Challenge Day Has Arrived

My daughter has her Food Challenge this morning at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She's going to try "wheat" for the first time. Ever since my daughter came home from the hospital it's been a never ending battle with eczema and food allergies. The list was longer when she was younger, but currently she's only allergic to wheat, gluten, eggs and peanuts. At the food challenge, the doctor gives her a very tiny amount of wheat to try and see if she had a reaction. If she doesn't, they give her more.... pretty much to see how much she can tolerate / if she's outgrown the allergy. Seems fairly simple, but we shall see.....

Her appointment is at 7:30am at the main campus building (that we are normally never at). But since we live across Jersey it's an hour and a half drive for us, on top of work traffic that early in the morning (I'm assuming). And I like to arrive a little early for doctor appointments, just a force of habit..... Sooooooooo we have to be out of the house by 5am.  UUUUGGGHHHHH!!!!

But it's all for her.

So today please send positive vibes our way. This would be a HUGE life-changer for her... and our family....

Random Stuff-- Be Warned

So I had nothing better to do on a Tuesday night, and I went ahead and messed around with my blog layout and header. NOT exactly keen on how it looks right now....... but it was my first time messing around with the whole thing on more-than-basic level.  I plan to get back into the blogging swing now that the cold weather has hit NJ (and is seeming to stay around this time)..... OPINIONS PLEASE?!?!?! Thanks Geeksters!!!!

I love the fall. But, I also turn into a huge hermit. I seriously just stay home and not do a damn thing but watch TV shows, play video games or read......... but after awhile I feel like I'm just tired all day long and like always unmotivated to do simple things like switch the laundry or eat food.

Ooooooo, so I started some Christmas shopping already, which is huge for me. Normally we're scrambling around last minute (I'm seriously talking like buying gifts on Dec 23rd here people) trying to get everything bought, wrapped and under the tree. I only got a few random things for the kids, but it's progress so I'm rolling with it.

Some crappy news though, to switch up my posts vibe...... As I was eating breakfast this morning I broke off a peice of one of my back teeth (the tooth that needs a dreaded root canal anyway). The dentist can't see me until the end of October to fix the dumb thing since they are sooooooooooo busy, so I'm stuck with a weird feeling mouth until then.... well not mouth, but like when my tongue is resting its touching the tooth and it feels akward. Ugh!!! And I'm afraid to eat too, lol.

I should get off my butt and do laundry today. I think I'm gonna actually do it all, so I won't have to do it tomorrow......... Bahahahahahaha, yea clothes are never ending here in the house. Always something to wash, dry, fold and put away.

Snapple Apple is my favorite Snapple drink. I'm having some right now....

I Forgot Something Important

So..... that job interview last week..................... I TOTALLY flaked out and forgot ALLLLL about my appointment!!! And I didn't REMEMBER I had the interview until Saturday night, while laying in bed trying to fall asleep. UGH!!! The day the interview was I was actually very busy and have NO IDEA why I scheduled the interview for that day. Oh yea I know why, because I didn't have my calendar infront of me when the woman called me to set up the date.

Yea, I'm totally bummed right now about the whole thing. I don't know how to go about fixing the situation either. Call and tell them the truth, call and tell them a lie (I was sick all weekend, that's why I didn't call to cancel my interview), don't call at all and just let it go...........

Geeky Working Girl?

So this Geek has a job interview this afternoon. Back the truck up a minute here...... A JOB INTERVIEW?!?!?! Yes Geeksters, like a legit real job interview.

Let me explain.....

I was at a Women's Bible Conference last week, just doing my thing. Before the conference started a woman got up and said that Harvey Cedars was looking for part-time help with light housekeeping. Something in me told me to just take the leap and fill out an application.

*Note: I'm a stay at home mom, and have been for like 10 years now. My husband suggested I go and get a job once both the kids were in school. He hasn't cracked the whip on that yet so I'll admit that I haven't been out there scoping the job scene*

Anyway, I filled out the short application after the conference. But so did at least 12 other women....

On Tuesday I got a phone call telling me that job was a part-time off-season seasonal house cleaning help, and if I was still interested they'd like to set up an interview with me for Friday (today). *Off-season, as the town the conference center is in is considered a beach/tourist town*

Oh hey! At the conference they were taking a video to put up on their website. I can be seen at timestamp 29:12, sitting against the wall under the picture with a blue striped sweater on.....

Yep, that makes me famous. LOL!

So while you are reading this I'm more than likely sitting across from someone, sweating like a pig, nervous as  all hell because I haven't been on an interview or worked a "real" job since the year 2003. It's only supposed to be a short fifteen minute interview I was told, so send me good vibes please.

Con Lang's

Hey Geeksters. So I came across this YouTube video quite randomly, but the title drew me in and I watched  all five minutes of it. I wish it went on longer, and spoke about the other languages in more depth....... but hey, beggars can't be choosers.
