Mondays here at "The Geek" (the loving name I call my blog) are going to be full of movie goodness. Movie chat on a Monday, if you will. Yea, I'm totally diggin' it!  I'll share what movies I saw the past week. And yes, I normally watch a bunch of movies a week.... you've been warned!

So! Without further ado.........

Movies I Saw this past week:

Rating: photo star_ratings1_zpsb947eb4f.png photo star_ratings1_zpsb947eb4f.png out of 5

Synopsis: When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs, and imaginations of children all over the world. Written by DreamWorks Animation on IMDB.com

My true feelings: The whole concept was cute, I'll give it that. But I saw what was coming a mile away, and so did my kids. That's never really any fun. We did laugh at a few parts, but the middle just got so boring and I only kept watching just to see if I was right about how it ended up. I was. Plus, I'm never on board with a Russian Santa.... Santa is German!  I was actually pulling for this movie to be good, since the cast of voices was great (Chris Pine, Alex Baldwin, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher) so I was just so disappointed when it turned south.

Synopsis: The Croods is a prehistoric comedy adventure that follows the world's first family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures -- and their outlook is changed forever. Written by DreamWorks Animation on IMDB.com

My true feelings:  Took the kids to see this this past weekend. It was totally cute! Lots of funny parts, and a good back story that the kids could understand. The characters were easy to like as well. I even teared up a little bit towards the end, because it was an emotional part.

P.S. I don't always watch kid movies, I promise.

What movies did you watch this week? Anything good? Anything crappy?
