Bookplex, NetGalley and Blogging For Books - For Readers

Back in April 2014, I signed up with Bookplex.com, to be paid for my review of free books they have available for download. You must choose a book from the list they provide (which normally isn't too long), download the book to your e-reading device (no paper copies available at this time), read that book and write a review, good or bad, before the deadline date listed. They just want real, honest reviews from people. Some rules though: reviews must be posted on your blog, you have to have an Amazon account, a GoodReads account, and a Barnes & Noble account (all to post reviews on). Who doesn't have those already? *Good news- they just updated their website*

Books I've reviewed through Bookplex:   Severed Threads   Shattered Hearts

I joined this website in May 2014. I read titles that I am interested in (they have tons to choose from, and they are easy to find by category). Then I post a review of the book on their website. I am allowed to post the review on my blog, GoodReads and through my social media. Plus it looks like some of the books are very newly published or are available before they are available to the public.... how COOL is that! Win, win for all!  I am a huge fan of this company because of the ease of finding books and getting them to my device. It's so simple and that's what people like!

I've been a member since May 2014. Pretty much the same concept of choose a book you want to read, read it, then post your review on their website. It looks like they mail out physical books to you (but they are hard to come by since they only have so many), or you can get an ebook through download on Edelweiss *from their website- Q: Are eBooks available for review? Yes. eBooks are available through the Blogging for Books program. You will need to have an Edelweiss account set up in order to download eBooks. The Blogging for Books program works seamlessly with Edelweiss to deliver your eBooks. Requests are made through the Blogging for Books program.*  The Blogging For books website's FAQ actually has a lot of good info for bloggers, so check that out.

NetGalley Review: Play Me series (Books 1 through 5) by Tracy Wolff

*This book series doesn't even come out till December 2014*

My review: I'm gonna start right off the bat and say I felt that this could of been one whole book instead of a series. They were all just short parts of one whole novel. But anyone, I enjoyed this book series very much. It was the right amount of erotica scenes with a real love story story line, that held up nicely. I liked the main characters Sebastian and Aria, and I liked their tragic backgrounds as well. I blew through this series in two days and I would recommend it to anyone who likes not too steamy but isn't shy about sex erotica novels.

NetGalley Review: Yours To Uncover (ES Siren 1) by Mel Teshco

I liked the cover, so I requested this book. Sci Fi and erotica... sign me up!  The book was definitely more in the sci fi realm, I thought. But it did have a few erotica scenes (I've read more elaborate erotica before). I liked the main characters, and the bad guy was definitely a bad guy-- he wore evil well. But I feel the book was wwwwaaaayyyyyyyy too short for my liking. I wanted to read more! Then I find out book 2 and book 3 of the series isn't even with the same characters *gasp*  I'm left hanging........  Anyway, I'd put this in the 'soft porn' category, so if that's your thing then check out this book.

NetGalley Review: Private Down Under by James Patterson

In the typical James Patterson style, it was soooo good you didn't want to put the book down. There were 4 story lines all going at once, which was a little overwhelming but not super confusing at all. I liked the entire book, and as always a huge fan of James Patterson.

NetGalley Review: The Negotiation by Christina Thacher

This is the second novel in the "The Lawyer To The Doms" series. It was a short erotica book, and I couldn't get enough. I wish I got to know more about the characters and I was hoping the story would of been longer and with more depth. I'd read work by this author again, too. This book is definitely NOT fluffy, so I recommend it for the people who want to read a short naughty erotic book and are not afraid of rough language and BDSM scenes.

NetGalley Review: No In Between by Lisa Renee Jones

This is the 4th installment of the Inside Out series.

I read and reviewed the first book through NetGalley and could not get enough of Chris and Sara. I bought myself the next two books of the series [here] and [here], and then I saw NetGalley was offering up the fourth book for review. Score!

The story continues on right where it left off, but with a little more background story and a little less 'erotica' scenes. Which is perfectly fine by me. I want to know who really killed Rebecca and where is Ella! The book was so good that I downloaded it and read it in one day. Now I'm stuck waiting till the next one is released.

If erotica books are your type of thing, I highly recommend the Inside Out series.

NetGalley Review: If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones

15717721

I saw this book cover while browsing titles through NetGalley. Red satin fabric always does it for me, lol. Plus it's the first in a trilogy, so I said why not. I really have to read series, or trilogies, whatever, in the correct order. And I'm a sucker for erotica novels.

So... this book is another one of those novels with 'rich and famous, yet damaged' characters you can't help but want to read more about. While the whole thing is bordering on "over-use of the same theme as the author before you", I was sucked into the pages and didn't want to stop reading. I actually laid in bed (on a rainy day mind you) and read more than half the book in one sitting. I like both main characters a lot, and a few sub-characters are pretty likable too (especially Ralph). I definitely want to see where the story goes........... I have to get my hands on the other two books somehow!
